CivicDataForge › LEIE Exclusion Screening

LEIE Exclusion Evidence API — valid NPI and normalized-name review

Provider-network, credentialing, compliance-integration, and vendor-governance teams use the HHS-OIG List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE) in recurring exclusion workflows. OIG updates the file monthly and recommends routine checking; each organization must determine the sources, cadence, verification, and obligations that apply to its own program. This tool supports source-linked screening evidence and list analysis, not employment eligibility decisions.

Two modes

Screen a list — pass provider or entity names, a valid NPI when available, an optional state, and an opaque reference; get back valid-NPI exact matches or normalized-name candidates that require review. State constrains name-candidate results. Filter the list — pull exclusions by state, specialty, or OIG exclusion-authority code for analysis or list-building.

Who uses it

Credentialing and compliance-integration firms, provider networks, vendor-governance teams, payers, and PBMs checking provider or entity records. A possible match is a review lead, not a final identity, consumer report, employment decision, or legal determination.

Source & cadence

The federal public dataset is downloaded from OIG for each run. OIG publishes monthly updates, but a run only proves the exact source bytes and retrieval time recorded in its receipt. Confirm your required cadence and perform OIG's final identity verification for consequential matches.
